Snowboarder Carving the Slopes
Attention grades 3-5: This winter, Thursday is ski day for Winchester Recreation! Grab your skis or board and your friends for four exciting afternoons at Nashoba Valley Ski Area, starting Jan 9th. Beginners will have the opportunity to learn skiing, while more advanced participants can sharpen up their skills. In this learn-to-ski program, each week participants will take lessons followed by free ski time. Buses for this four-week lesson program will depart the Recreation Department at 3:30pm sharp. We expect to return to WinRec at approximately 7:00pm, depending on traffic and weather conditions. 

In the event that lessons are canceled due to inclement weather, we will try to add an extra Thursday at the end of the session. Please note that refunds will not be provided, even if the season is extended due to poor weather and participants are unable to attend the rescheduled dates.

More detailed information will be sent before the start of the program. (4 weeks)

Dates:  Thursdays 1/9/24-1/30/25
Fee: $550 (Includes bus, lift ticket, lesson)
Min 30/Max 40

Please indicate your child's ability level (never skied, beginner or intermediate) so that they are placed in the proper group for their lessons. 

We are seeking chaperones for each week. If you are interested, please indicate so during registration. 


Release Form:
Each participant is required to fill out the following Snow Sports Release Form. This release form must be submitted online prior to the first day of the program.

If you would like to rent equipment, there will be a ski/snowboard fitting on December 5th at 6pm @ WinRec.
Rentals are to be paid directly to Nashoba Valley Ski the day of the fitting. If you are unable to attend the fitting, you can be fitted at Nashoba Valley Ski Area. Payment will be processed at the time of rental. 
Rental Fee: $160

  • Fee includes bus, lift ticket and a one hour lesson
  • Ski or snowboard rentals are separate and a pre-fitting will be held on 12/5 @ 6pm at the Recreation Department
  • Ski and Snowboard rentals are $160, if ordered at the pre-fit session.
