Debate Club
A debate is a structured discussion in which participants explore opposing viewpoints on a topic. Debate helps children develop essential life skills, including critical thinking, confidence, empathy, effective communication, and public speaking. Through engaging games and practice activities, participants will learn to distinguish facts from opinions, identify errors in reasoning, strengthen their active listening skills, and build well-supported arguments using the Claim-Evidence-Reasoning (CER) framework. In each class, children will practice these essential argumentation skills through a variety of age-appropriate debate formats and engaging topics. (10 weeks)
