Contemporary Dance w/ Lorraine (Grades 6-12)
For dancers ages 12–17 at the Intermediate–Advanced level.
This 10-week program combines a technical warm-up with choreography rehearsal each session, focusing on building strong technique while learning a challenging new piece. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform at the end of each session in or around Winchester (dates and locations are announced in advance).
- Attendance: Because of the short session, dancers should miss no more than 1–2 rehearsals. Performance participation is encouraged but are not required for those who are unable, wish to not perform, or have scheduling conflicts. Please discuss with the instructor if you have conflicts.
- Dress Code: Leotard with leggings or dance pants, a form-fitting top, and skin-tone dance socks.
- Costumes: Not included in the class fee. Links and recommendations will be provided; expect $50 per piece. Financial aid is available. Contact the Recreation Department for details.
About the Instructor:
Lorraine Chapman is an award-winning choreographer and highly respected instructor with over 39 years of professional experience as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director.
For performances, Amazon and/or Discount Dance links for costumes will be provided in advance, along with suggestions for undergarments such as a camisole leotard in your skin tone. Costume prices are expected to average around $50 per piece of choreography. (10 weeks).
