Winchester Recreation Youth Wrestling Program (Grades 3rd – 8th)
Join Winchester Recreation and Coach Chris & Daniel Nissen this winter for Youth Wrestling.   In this program coaches will strive to develop athletes with grit. Participants will learn how to face adversity and build the courage to keep pushing forward. Participants will learn the basics of wrestling and learn to enjoy the 1:1 competition that wrestling provides. There will be several half-day weekend competitions and tournaments during December, January, and February. The coaches expect participants to attend most of these events.  Schedule of these events TBA.
 
What your kids should bring: Please have your child wear active clothing, T-shirt, and shorts to practice/matches.  It is recommended that all participants purchase wrestling shoes and headgear. These items are not needed for the first week of practice, however, should be purchased before competitions begin.  Please reach out to coach Nissen if you have any problems procuring these items or need advice on where to purchase. 
 
Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays, November 27th – February 14th (Off 12/25, 12/27, 1/1, 1/15)
Times:  6:30PM – 8:00PM
Location: Winchester H.S. Wrestling Room
Fee: $240
* This fee includes a participant t-shirt and a USA wrestling card that is required to participate in matches and tournaments.
Coaches: Chris Nissen & Daniel Nissen
About the Coach: Chris Nissen & Daniel Nissen are both Winchester residents who are passionate about giving back to the youth wrestling community.  Chris & Daniel both attended High School in Colorado and followed one another to the Air Force Academy participating at the collegiate level.  Chris was a 4x State H.S. Champion and at the Air Force Academy he was a Division 1 National Qualifier.  Daniel was also High School State Qualifier placing on the podium.
