Winchester Recreation Youth Wrestling Program (Grades 2nd - 8th)
Join Winchester Recreation and our coaches for the great sport of wrestling.   In this co-ed program coaches will strive to develop athletes with grit and determination while teaching wrestlers the skills to be competitive and constantly improving. Participants will learn how to face adversity and build the courage to keep pushing forward. Wrestlers will practice 2 times a week and will compete in several half-day weekend competitions and tournaments during December, January, and February. The tournament schedule, dates and times are TBA.

What to bring: Please have your child wear active clothing, T-shirt, and shorts to practice/matches. All participants should purchase wrestling shoes and headgear. Headgear is a requirement and must be worn at all practices and competitions. Please reach out to coach Nissen if you have any problems procuring these items or need advice on where to purchase. All participants will receive wrestling t-shirt, shorts and a team sweatshirt as part of the registration fee. Please provide sizes when registering.

Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays, December 2nd – February 5th (Off 12/23, 12/25, 12/30, 1/1, 1/20)
Times: 6:30PM – 8:00PM

Meet our coaches! Chris Nissen & Daniel Nissen are both Winchester residents who are passionate about giving back to the youth wrestling community. Chris & Daniel both attended High School in Colorado and followed one another to the Air Force Academy competing at the collegiate level. Chris was a 4x State H.S. Champion and at the Air Force Academy he was a NCAA Division 1 National Qualifier. Daniel was a High School State Qualifier and place winner.
