WINCHESTER RECREATION BASKETBALL PROGRAM
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: NOVEMBER 15TH
This program is for participants of all abilities! Participants will practice and play games each week in a fun and recreational environment against classmates and friends. Games are held on Saturdays with skills sessions/practices for all groups meeting 1x time during the week (day and time TBD). The Saturday schedule times and location will vary depending on the number of players in each division. Games run for 1 hour and game times vary from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM. We anticipate the younger ages starting earlier in the morning followed by the older leagues. Due to limited gym availability, practice days and times will be determined based on the number of total teams in the league. Practices will be the same day and time for your child’s team and can take place Monday – Thursday Practice and game schedules are released at the coaches meeting in mid-November before the season begins. Details will be sent to parents by their teams’ coaches prior to the start of the season. Rosters and schedules will be posted on winrec.com.
Teams will consist of 8 – 10 players per team, with playing time being distributed evenly. During game play we will be utilizing Winchester High School athletes from both the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams to referee. Specifics on game play and rules will be set prior to the start of the season. Hoops will be set at 10ft for grades 4th – 8th, with hoops set at 8ft for grade 3, both boys and girls. Age groups could be combined based on registration numbers with your child’s team placements and complete schedule being released before the first week of practices/skills that begin the week of December 2. Game play will begin on December 7.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE: Days: Mondays - Thursdays
Each team will have one skills/practice night per week at a time between 6:00-8:30pm and one game each Saturday starting the week of December 2. Details will be sent to parents by their teams’ coaches prior to the start of the season.
